Bond of friendship and love under society's pressure
Recently I had chance to watch an eye-opening movie, “The Help” which was capable to impact my heart and soul in a way I never imagined. This movie gave a biggest impact on my mind. I had done a little research about this movie and found that this film was inspired from Kathryn Stockett’s novel, "The Help". In this movie, Love and Friendship is one of the main themes. Love and friendship are essential parts of human relationships, shaping our lives in meaningful ways. Love is often seen as the glue that brings people together, while friendship provides comfort, trust, and support. However, these connections can face challenges like racism, differences in class, and personal biases. In the movie "The Help" we see how love and friendship can be both complicated and life-changing, especially when they cross societal boundaries. The story explores relationships not just between family or romantic partners, but also between people of different races. It shows how these bonds can survive or break under the weight of society's expectations. The movie looks at the relationships between white women and their Black maids. While these relationships may seem to be built on affection and trust, they are deeply affected by racism in society. The story explores the struggles in these connections, showing the conflict between personal loyalty and the larger system of racism.
This story is about Skeeter, a young woman who wants to become a journalist and 2 black maids Aibileen and Minny. In that time When people from two different races were expected to interact only in employee relationship. But Skeeter builds a strong friendship with Aibileen and Minny
In The Help, one of the most touching but sad parts are the bond between Black caretakers and the white children. Aibileen Clark and Mae Mobley’s relationship shows that love and care aren’t just about blood ties. Aibileen becomes another mother to that poor girl, showing her love, teaching her to be kind. Their relationship goes beyond Skin color and shows how love can break barriers. Aibileen is also a mother who lost her son. She knows that pain but sad to see that Maids like Aibileen can raise the children with love and care, but they have to let them go or forgot when their job is done. This leaves a deep emotional pain for maids and the children. On the other hand, Skeeter's story with Constantine, the black maid who raised her adds beautiful to this story. Constantine gave skeeter the love and support she didn't always get from her own mother whenever she feels low. Constantine teaches Skeeter important values and helps inspire her to fight against racism. Skeeter’s relationship with Constantine, her family’s Black maid, also shows the lasting effect a caretaker's love can have. But these relationships are complicated by the racism of the time, which treats the women who care for these children as less important. When Skeeter finds out that Constantine was forced to leave the family, she realizes how unfairly black maids are often treated. The pain of this injustice is clear when Constantine is fired from the Phelan household, ending a bond that was a big part of Skeeter’s childhood. These relationships show the deep loving connections that can form between maids and white children even society opposes that.
The movie "The Help" beautifully explores how love and friendship can overcome barriers like racism and inequality among black and white people. The bond between the characters, like Skeeter with Minny Aibileen proves that love and kindness have the power to break those inequality. It shows how human connections can change Society which is deeply divided by racism.
