Two Sides

"Every fish in the pond is different." In the Tate Taylor's movie "The help" a lot of Africans work under the upper-class white people. Even though they have a lot of talents into them, their society prevents them from revealing it. We can see those talents mainly in Aibileen and Minny. There are some similarities and differences between two of them. Aibileen seems innocent, pathetic but Minnie shows the fearless characteristics.

Aibileen and Minnie are good friends. Cilia's and Minnie's relationship also reveals us about their friendliness. When Skeeter and Aibileen speak about the book in Aibileen's house, Minnie casually comes to the Aibileen's house. This shows their friendship.  While Cilia went to Elizabeth's house for the Ladies' Club meeting and was mistreated by Hilli and her friends, Minnie takes the role of a therapist and assures her. Minnie is good at cooking. Even though Minnie and Aibileen are also maids under the whites, and they have some same characteristics, they also have some different personalities too.

Aibileen raised around 17 children. Raising children is very hard. Compared to that, raising others' children is very difficult one. The accident happens to her son in his young age reveals us how horribly the Africans were treated in that era in that society. She raises white children very kindly even after she lost her own child by a white. Her son had died helplessly in front of her. But she did not hate white children. This clearly shows her forgiveness.

In Ladies' Club meeting at Elzabeth's home, Hilly says that Aibileen has used her washroom that's why she can't use the same and further she said about many diseases can come from the black people, infront of Aibileen. She heard all of her words and keep calm. This shows her tolerance nature. But when on the storm day Hilly prevents Minnie from using their washroom she went there. This shows her fearlessness and after she was caught red handedly by Hilly, she resigned from her job and left Hilly's home. This shows her self-respect. At the beginning when Skeeter asked about her life she hesitated to tell. This implies her fear of society. Even though white people rule the blacks they all behave politely with them. The cake scene is so hilarious. This implies Minnie's revenge taking personality and her innovative mindset.

The above suggests that Aibileen and Minnie are the strongest characters, and no one can be the same.
